HELPFUL TIPS FOR THE DAY TO DAY
1. Always look for an Opportunity
Every
day we are faced with challenging situations. No matter how much we
plan and hope for, somehow we have something that comes in to change
our day. Don’t be disheartened by this. It is an opportunity for you to
shine in being yourself. It is an opportunity to learn. It is an
opportunity to do something new and exciting.
2. Always be Positive
It
is so easy to feel sorry for ourselves, our situation and our lives.
Yet all this does is bring us down. It doesn’t serve us in what we want
to achieve or what we want to be, so why even bother with it?! Take a
positive approach. It is like working a muscle. At first it is a little
unfamiliar and seems hard. You will see each day as you look for the
upside to every situation all of a sudden it isn’t as gloomy and for
some reason you feel happy from within. This is the power of
positivity. The best part is that it is infectious. Before you know it,
all of those around you will be doing the same. How Exciting!!
3. Believe in yourself
One
of our biggest weaknesses is the fact we do not realize how absolutely
fantastic we are!! Believe in yourself in everything you do, say and
be. You have the power to create and change anything you want in the
way you want. Look at yourself in the mirror. Really look. It feels a
little awkward. Don’t let this stop you. Take a deep breathe and tell
yourself how wonderful you are and see how that feels. Try it each day
and see the difference that this can make to your day and the way you
treat yourself.
4. Make the decision to give yourself choices
So
much time is spent on believing that we have no choices. The funny part
is that we merely made the decision that we didn’t have a choice. When
you wake up of a morning make the decision to give yourself any and
every choice you want. Be open to possibilities and the choice that you
have the power to decide anything. Be empowered by taking power back in
the decisions you make.
5. Enjoy being happy
We
always tell ourselves that we will be happy “when” – why not just be
happy?! Happiness is a state of mind. It isn’t dependent upon getting
the right job, the right partner or a raise. Happiness comes from
within and it is there waiting for you to let it out. The only thing
you have to lose is feeling sad. Try it on and see how happiness can
feel. You may be surprised how it really suits you!
6. Approach situations with humour
It
is so easy to get so serious for days on end. All of a sudden life
seems very dry and without any element of fun. Take the opportunity to
make a joke, laugh a little at a silly joke you heard or thought of.
Life is serious enough, add a little humour to your day, smile and
enjoy a bit of laughter.
7. Acknowledge yourself for being You
You
do so much for the family, your friends, for work, for your partner and
the list goes on. How often do you stop to acknowledge yourself for
being the wonderful person you are? Take time in your day to
acknowledge all the effort you make into making your life as full and
fulfilling as you make it for everyone else. The more you look after
yourself the more you are actually looking after others. Do yourself a
favour, stop and smell some roses and recognise that you are truly
magnificent!
